Rashtriya Military Schools are CBSE affiliated residential school for boys studying in class VI to XII. The school prepares the cadets for All India Senior School Certificate Examination and for joining defence forces as officers. Rashtriya Military schools were established as King George’s Royal Indian Military schools to take care of the education of the sons of defence personnel. The schools were renamed Military Schools in 1966.
The schools are category ‘A’ establishment of the Army and are administrated by the Directorate General of Military Training at IHQ of MOD (Army). The Central Governing Council (CGC), headed by the Defence Secretary, Ministry of Defence is the apex body for these schools.
AIM
Prepare boys from age group 10 to 18 years for:
All India Secondary & Sr. Sec. School Examinations.
Written Entrance Exam for National Defence Academy.
Provide sound general education without religious or cast prejudices and foster leadership qualities.
Develop qualities of mind, body and character in order to enable children to
become good citizen.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Based on Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted in 3rd week of December
every year.
Boys must be between 10-11 years of age at the time of admission to class VI.
CET followed by Interview and medical examination.
Admission based on merit prepared by MT-15.
